


Purnima: School Construction Project (Lot 1)
Mott MacDonald contracted SAPPROS Nepal to provide NGO Services to implement ‘School Construction Project (Lot 1)’ under Purnima Program. Purnima is a five-year earthquake recovery program funded by DFID and managed by Mott MacDonald. The aim of the project is to construct a total of five schools in remote locations of three earthquake affected districts as tabulated below. This project envisages to provide a Safer Learning Environment to the Children and Teachers and a Safe refuge in times of natural disaster for the whole community.

Key project interventions:
- New construction of five school buildings and classroom furnitures
- WaSH facilities, compound wall/ retaining strucutre, Gender friendly toilet, Children Play Equipment etc
- Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)/Water, Sanitization and Hygiene (WaSH)/Environment related activities at schools to ensure safer learning environment
- Capacity development/School sustainability activities to School Management Committee (SMC), Parents-Teachers Association (PTA)
- Coordination and Collaboration with local stakeholders including Palika
- Health, Safety and Safeguarding related activities
