Narrative description of the Project
Promoting Agriculture, Health, and Alternative Livelihoods (PAHAL) is a five-year project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Office of Food for Peace (FfP). The project’ sees goal to strengthen livelihoods, improve nutritional status, and increase the capacity of vulnerable households to mitigate, adapt to, and recover from shocks and stresses in rural communities.
SAPPROS Nepal is leading the Water Component Activities. The main activity is the multiple use of water in all of the program districts, for effective utilization of the resource. Effective water services are essential to improving food utilization practices and preventing health shocks. Ensuring good water management increases income and contributes to food access.
Objective of the programme
To strengthen livelihoods, improve nutritional status, and increase the capacity of vulnerable households to mitigate, adapt to, and recover from shocks and stresses in rural communities.
