SAPPROS Nepal is a national level, non-governmental organization (NGO). Established in 1991, SAPPROS is committed to achieve long-term, sustainable changes in the lives of the most marginalized, deprived and vulnerable communities in Nepal. SAPPROS has a long history of building resilience by helping individuals in economic inclusion and empowerment for increased income and employment. It places people at the center of development, promoting a holistic approach to wellbeing based on a deep understanding of how people interact with the institutions and systems that impact their lives.
We have successfully implemented more development activities in 52 districts of Nepal in the past 30 years, and have reached more than 574,000 households through various program activities. SAPPROS builds people’s organizations, mobilizes local resources and promotes participatory planning processes at the grassroots level to develop self-governing and self-sustained grassroots level institutions.
In recognition of our exemplary efforts, SAPPROS has been felicitated with the prestigious “The Right Livelihood Award” in 2010 for its vision and work forming an essential contribution to making life of women, poor, marginalized and vulnerable people more whole and uplifting humanity.
