Narrative Description of the Project
The Anukulan/ BRACED is a UKAID funded project to build the resilience of half a million poor and vulnerable people. The resilience being built, especially of women and children, is against climate change impacts like floods, landslides, and drought.
SAPPROS Nepal is a consortium partner and leads the water resource component and Enterprise Development component in all of the six project districts. In addition to leading the two components in all project districts, SAPPROS is leading the overall programme implementation in Doti and Dadeldhura districts.
Objective of the Project
- Increase the annual income for 100,000 households (30000 direct HH, 70000 Value chain HH) (benefiting over 500,000 people) by £140 per month.
- Promote the integration of DRR and Climate Change Adaptation measures.
- Reduce the proportion of children, under the age of five, suffering from malnutrition.
- Empower women, as measured by the WEAI, to take leading roles in rural institutions contributing to economic opportunities.
